About
An unconventional cinematic experience
A film where reality and thriller collide, and truth is found in contradiction.
In a Kafkaesque Miami, Nathan, a disillusioned and socially isolated surveillance operator, develops an unexpected friendship with the charismatic Bucky. Bucky shows Nathan the importance of inserting himself into society—using a knife.
The debut feature film of writer-director Pierce Kafka, Contradictions required almost a decade of preparation and production. Contradictions unfolds as a cinéma vérité-inspired exploration of the human condition, where reality intersects with fiction in a woven tapestry of the real and surreal.
About
From the inner city of Miami, to the subconscious mind
Dive into a twisted psychological thriller where “buddy-buddy” takes a razor-sharp turn.
Nathan, a disillusioned surveillance operator, wallows in self-isolation until the charismatic Bucky bursts into his life. Bucky’s seemingly positive influence leads Nathan towards an unexpected romance with Katie, but his methods are far from conventional – involving blades and unorthodox social introductions.
Filmed in the sun-drenched streets of Miami, this mind-bending story is built on a foundation of reality, with stylistic choices that push the boundaries of authenticity. Witness a decade of dedication poured into this unconventional cinematic experience, where reality and thriller collide.
